week 15
The pupils have worked very hard, painting and collaging the final artwork, next week will be finishing off all the last little bits of detail. I photographed all the canvas separately just to see how they would look together which is why the background colour looks differant in some of them. Look out for it on display at the Basildon Festival 4th/5th July at Gloucester park.

Week Thirteen
working from the students own ideas and investigations we designed a piece of artwork to cover all 8 canvases. The students collaged differant textures and layers to the canvas, once dry they then painted the background the same shade of light blue before using print rollers to work in a darker blue tone. This has produced a multi layered two tone background to which the main design will be worked into.

week 11 part 2
I was in twice this week, on monday with Mrs Smollets class and on wednesday with Miss Keens class. we looked at creating textured backgrounds by sticking wallpaper, cardboard etc onto board and then working in with a single colour. A lighter or darker shade was added in various ways using rollers, brushes and quite alot of hands! Flicking paint was another popular way of creating unusual patterns. Above is a selection of the students work from the two classes. excellant results all round!
week 11
we are getting very close now to working on the finished artwork, over the past ten weeks we have discussed, investigated and researched a whole range of creative disciplines needed to create our finished artwork. The final piece over eight 30 x 40 canvas's will incorporate elements from all the students work and will reflect not only their ideas and creative ability but also their aspirations for the sporting village and its positive impact on the community as a whole.
