Week One

I started the project with Miss Keen's class which is on a wednesday morning. The school day is broken up into three 100 minute sessions, I must admit that I was initially sceptical about the length of the lesson and feared the students would become bored and restless after an hour or so.

I'm happy to say that this was not the case, The session started by me talking through how and why the project came about, I explained who the project's partners are (Basildon Renaissance, Creative Partnerships, and Nimble Fish) and that the latest two partners in the project are the students, representing The James Hornsby School and myself.

I explained the aims of the project and our objectives we then started to discuss ideas.

The students worked well as a group and contributed lots of ideas during our 'brainstorming' session. we looked at different types of sport, sports men and women and even the types of clothes that they wear.

We spent time working on a wipe board, with students making suggestions and alterations to ideas for a design.

  1. In this project we have many, different ideas for our design. These include things such as banners, flag poles, signs, picture and bright colours to represent the excitement of the event.
